Our Story

The book of Romans boasts that we should not follow in the world’s ways when it says in chapter 12, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Each year the public school seems to step further away from God’s ideals. As families that are blessed and able to homeschool, we have the ability to teach God’s word, morals, and values to our children before releasing them to the world. The thing that we felt our children may be missing is a safe community where the kids can worship God without persecution, as well as have group activities and classes that cannot be taught at home. "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6.

Proverbs 3 reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” God has literally led us on this straight, golden path to create a homeschool group; a group of families that are of the same mind where the children and parents can academically and relationally grow each other. God already paved the way and directed us toward the exact spot we are now.

The ladies on the board have never felt so much desire to work on something ever in their lives. So after research, prayer, meetings, and discussions God threw Bible verses our way to truly make our decisions for us. One question that weighed heavy on our hearts is, “He who is not with me is against me,” (Matthew 12:30) meaning if we follow the public schools to a Non-Christian viewpoint, are we not choosing to be against God? Isaiah wrote in chapter 55, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while He is near.” If he is not near us through the choices we make, how are we able to call on Him?

So, we made numerous phone calls to places in town, accountants, lawyers, insurance companies, and teachers that were absolute miracles. These calls showed God’s love and dedication to this group because most of these people and places were excited and ready to welcome our group. They helped us know how to create a non-profit organization with insurance and what to do to have a group that will last beyond our homeschooling years.

Our vision for this group is to be like Psalm 1 describes, “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Our prayer is that CHARGE and our families are planted by God’s waters. Also, that our fruit is sweet and plentiful and wherever we are led will be prosperous, so that our children can grow and learn all that God has to offer.
